چکیده | ||
Evaluation of the rooting of cuttings of three endemic thyme species (T. daenensis, T.migricus and T. pubescens) by using IBA and NAA at four levels (0, 200, 500 and 1000 ppm), was carried out in a factorial randomized block design with three replicates. The percentage of rooting, the number of roots per cutting, the length of the longest root, the length of the lateral shoots, the number of lateral shoots /cutting and the days to 1stlateral shoots were assessed. Rooting percentage was higher in most plants in the IBA treatment than in the NAA treatment. All other characteristics were influenced by the different concentrations of rooting solutions and species. The highest number of roots per cutting was obtained 4and the longest root length was 9.66 cm in T. daenensis Male Fertile. In addition, T. daenensis Male Fertile had the greatest length of lateral shoots (10 cm). The highest number of lateral shoots (9.66) was recorded in T. daenensis Male Sterile and T. daenensis Male Fertile. The results of the present study show that, in T. pubescens, lateral shoot emergence from cutting is faster than in T.migricus and T. daenensis. This results suggest that there are no appreciable differences between NAA and IBA in terms of how these plants root, and the ideal concentrations for thyme rooting are 200 and 500 ppm. .We also concluded that MSs outperformed MFs in terms of rooting rate and number of root generation. These results can be useful for breeding programs and reaching plant clones. | ||
